Welcome to my About Me page!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Pirashannah (Press) Thayakaran and I am a registered Real Estate Salesperson with Century 21. I currently work at "MyCondoPro Realty Inc" a brokerage based in Toronto, Ontario. We have six branch offices conventionally located all around the Greater Toronto Area.

Why Century 21 MyCondoPro Realty Inc?

A full circle moment, the owner of MyCondoPro was the one who helped secure my first pre-construction unit in 2019. So why did I join them? They got a strong pre-construction team with VIP Platnium access to many projects within Ontario but also got access to projects in Alberta, but also outside of Canada. Not only do they have a strong presence in the Pre-construction industry, but they also got a solid Resale and Commercial team. This is very important, as I will have the ability to assist my clients/customers regardless of the type of real estate transaction they would like to conduct.

Let's get down to the personal stuff now you know where I work.

My journey with real estate started in 2011, this is when I began to work with my father who owns a small home renovation company. This is where I picked up the many skills related to property management and general property maintenance. Fast forward to 2015, my family had bought a second home and my father was very confident with my property management/maintenance skills so he put me in charge of our first home. This is where I utilized the many skills that I have learned while working alongside my father.

Some of my regular duties as a property manager/landlord were:

-screening any potential tenants

-communicating with tenants to resolve any concerns or issues they may have

-collecting rent

-completing minor repairs and hiring contractors for major repairs

-ensuring the bills are paid on time

-cleaning and preparing the home for new tenants

-marketing the property via different platforms to attract new tenants once units are vacant

-Prepare monthly and yearly reports

While completing the whole process of attracting potential tenants, screening them to ensure they were the right fit for our home, and the customer service aspect, I enjoyed the process so much that I began providing the service only to close family and friends. After my service was completed, I would constantly get positive feedback from them, and they would encourage me to try real estate as a career since I enjoyed it so much. AND that is when I decided to pursue a career in Real Estate! Fast forward to 2022, and I am OFFICIALLY a Real Estate Salesperson.

Purchasing my first property!

Growing up, we all dreamt of becoming millionaires, so I would look into different ideas and ventures which would allow me to become a millionaire. After hearing the quote "Ninety percent of all millionaires become so through owning real estate" by Andrew Carnegie a billionaire industrialist, it had me look at all the millionaires in my family and noticed the one thing they all had in common, is they had owned one or more properties.

After witnessing my older cousin (about 15 years older than me) become a millionaire via her Real Estate investment portfolio in her early 30s, so I decided to mirror her path when I finally had some money coming in. Fast forward to 2019, My younger brother and I had purchased our first Pre-Construction Condo at the age of 20 & 22.

Why Pre-Construction as my first purchase?

Pre-Construction especially condos is a great opportunity to get into the real estate market without having the typically 20% downpayment upfront. With a flexible deposit structure, it allowed me to work towards that 20% down payment while benefiting from the appreciation of the property. Another great benefit of Pre-Construction is I'm paying today's price in tomorrow's market. Based on historical records, real estate tends to trend upwards. So by the time I get my unit in 3-4 years' time, ill be able to refinance it, and pull out the built equity through a refinance, and essentially repeat the process, or use that capital and put it towards another property.
